Former West Coast Hawaiian Beer Distributor, Akoni Alualu, who lettered in baseball and football at the University of Hawaii, was also a competitive swimmer. Although his undergrad degree in analytical chemistry initially led him to beer, his honors degree in a STEM field had contributed to his welcome on the Huygens campus. That Akoni's former West Coast Hawaiian Beer Distributor position had passed to a third Alualu brother, Malulani Alualu, was also important to Griff and Durango, both of whom now ranked free cases of Hawaiian beer very highly.
"Two buses? "Akoni asked.
"Worked ok on last years trip to the Rogue River Valley," Griff replied. "What can you tell us about the motel where we are booked?"
"In my former career, I spent many pleasant nights at that motel near the Humboldt County Fairgrounds. They remembered me, and they gave us a sizeable discount."
"In Oregon, last year", Griff commented, "we picked a Rogue River Valley lodge that was not adjacent to -- uh -- distractions. Is that the case with the motel where you booked DeJuan, Caesar, Casey, Rocco, Damian, the Special Teams Coach, and our entire football team?"
