within and without

"I've created sketches both regarding the characters present (deer, individual) in the original work and regarding the events either preceding or following the work itself. I'm fascinated by the ability to capture moments through art/photography. I think of my work as a single frame of a larger story for the audience to interpret.

painting:within and without

The painting is regarding my feelings of being in control versus being out of control and watching things crumble...I went through various renditions, restarting three times, before settling on this sketch and color palette. Even during my final rendition, I struggled to make the color palette work. My intention with this piece is to tell a story, a prequel and a sequel of sorts, to post in relation to the painting. Then I'll create a thread... That's what's nice about painting with a narrative like this one, there's multiple possibilities for where it could go. "
