"For my final project, I took small photos that I have taken in Chicago and created one-sentence short stories about the time I have spent in the city over the past year...

.... ......when describing a new place, it is often described by the creatures and plant species that reside there. Flora and Fauna consists of brief vignettes of the ecosystem of my life over the past year. ... I spent a long time trying to figure out what order I would like to submit the photographs in...To start off, feeling as if I was an outsider to the world of Chicago and flowers, and end the semester with an intrusive presence (which is the early snow that caused all our flowers to die) that makes the candle wax burn brighter with a new season to come in the spring.

The progression through the photos also shows the progress from feeling like an alien in a new space, to being comfortable enough to organize a party on my own...."
