The Good with The Bad

"....I wanted to make a raw piece of writing that talked openly and honestly about my personal experiences with social media. The piece dives into some of my darker times and how they correlated to my social media. I have taken many writing classes where I was told not to combine past and present tense, but I think social media is a tool that allows our brains to fixate on captured moments from the past while in the present. I wanted my tone in this piece to display that feeling of past and present intertwining. the piece explores how some of my most formative memories were synonymous with social media. I also wanted to write this piece in a style that was true to my natural internal dialogue, and the piece comes off somewhat like a stream of consciousness."
