Together Susanna and Caydance entered the studio/workshop via the window in the overgrown garden.
"Where is the couch?" Susanna asked.
"What couch?"
"It was in the place where now there is a chair and an easel". Susanna pointed to the partially finished drawing on the easel. "And, that drawing is not Ted's work."
"We think that someone discovered and used the studio/workshop years after Ted departed, but currently we are only focusing on Ted. That chair and easel remain a mystery."
"It was a comfortable brown leather couch. Not new. Ted told me tha it had originally been in the lobby but was moved to his studio when his Grandfather replaced worn furniture. "
"Is this painting familiar?" Caydance asked. They stood beneath the gold-framed watercolor that Nico had identified as Utah Beach, painted, Nico thought, a decade or more after D-day; painted, Kendrick thought, by Ted Treharne.
