"Early in the morning, we followed a barely visible overgrown path -- Mei Chen and I. She led the way. The hotel does not want to call attention to the studio/workshop until we know more about what occurred there. So, the door in the hotel lobby remains boarded up, plastered, and painted over, and the path has not yet been cleared. I was dressed the way Mei suggested -- in old jeans and a long-sleeved hiking shirt."
In her studio, Caydance and Griff were surrounded by Clown Alley takeout : three bacon cheeseburgers; one order of chili fries; two orders of extra French fries -- as well as a six pack of Maui Lager, a present from the new West Coast Hawaiian Beer distributer, Defense Coach Kekoa Alualu's 3rd brother, Malulani Alualu. "Early in the morning, at about the same time, I and Coach Dornfeld, known in the Sacramento Valley as The Duke, were at the Nut Tree," Griff observed.
"As occurred last year at the same place, we drank Nut Tree coffee, ate donuts, and exchanged grubby, magic marker-labeled video tapes. Two women at an adjoining table looked at us. Suspiciously. 'Football porn,' Dornfeld whispered loudly. One of the women got up from the table."
