Every year, Caydance purchased at least one new-to-her-collection artists book. This summer -- on a solo trip to New York City -- at the legendary artists book store, Printed Matter, she had acquired Doug Beube's Manhattan Street Romance. Griff, she recalled, was not happy that she went to New York City by herself, a situation that was not improved when her brother Jack told him that going to New York City was -- for an artist -- kind of like going to summer football camp.
"Do you know this artist?" Griff had asked when she returned from New York with Manhattan Street Romance in her totebag.
Caydance was traversing the layers of transparent and opaque photographs in this offset printed work when -- brandishing a blueprint and, a series of architectural window schedules -- Jack himself appeared at her studio door.
